Media Yard LLC (“we”) operates Mentionmill. This notice explains what we collect when you run or save a prompt, and how we use it.
Controller roles
For the website, free checks, and our own accounts, Media Yard LLC is the controller. If you are a shop or agency and you save a prompt that includes personal data you control (for example a client email), we process that data on your instructions as described in the optional DPA.
What we collect
- Shop or brand name and the prompt you submit
- Named or Not named results, other names, and cited links from a pass
- Email if you save a prompt or request a magic link
- Check history for a saved prompt
- Payment metadata if Stripe checkout is live
- Technical logs needed to run the site (IP for free-check caps, security)
What we do not collect
- Customer phone numbers
- SMS contents — Mentionmill does not send texts
- Advertising or analytics profiles
- Payment card numbers (Stripe holds those when checkout is live)
How we use it
We use the prompt to run ChatGPT and Perplexity when those engines are connected. We use email to sign you in and to send a weekly watch note if names change. We use payment metadata to keep the plan. We do not sell your prompt list. We do not train a Mentionmill model on your prompts.
Cookies
We use necessary cookies only — the signed session that keeps you logged in after a magic link. We do not set advertising cookies. We do not set analytics cookies. There is no gtag, Plausible, PostHog, or Vercel Analytics on Mentionmill.
Processors
These processors handle Mentionmill data. OpenAI and Perplexity receive the prompt text when those keys are set.

Transfers
Processors listed above are in the United States. If you use Mentionmill from outside the U.S., your prompt and email are transferred there so we can run the check and host the site. Where a transfer tool is required, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses described in the DPA.
Security and breach notice
Access is limited to operating the product. If we become aware of a personal-data breach that affects you, we will notify you and, where we act as processor, the controller within 48 hours of becoming aware, unless law forbids it.
Retention
Free checks live in the session you see on screen. Saved prompts and history stay until you cancel and ask us to delete them, or until we must keep a record for law or a dispute. Canceling the plan keeps the account and history unless you ask us to erase them.
Your rights
Email hello@mentionmill.com to access, correct, or delete your saved prompt and account, or to object or restrict where the law gives you that right. We will respond without undue delay.
CCPA — we do not sell
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may email the same address to request access or deletion.
Children
Mentionmill is for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this notice. The date at the top will change. If a change is material and you have an account, we will email the address on the account.
